TORRENT DIRECT is an electrically heated, mains pressure hot water heat store, that makes the most of off-peak tariffs - in much the same way as an Economy 7 cylinder operates. It is a combination unit which incorporates a feed and expansion tank and eliminates the problems associated with a cold water cistern in the roof space.

By immersing a large mains pressure coil within the cylinder, cold water is converted to hot by means of speedy thermal transfer as it passes through.

A thermostatic blending valve (supplied) ensures the output temperature from the heat store cannot exceed a selectable limit, so there should never be a danger of scalding - a particularly handy safety feature with the young and elderly.

The Torrent is supplied complete with two low watts density immersion heaters for extra quiet operation as recommended by the Electricity Council.

'Draw-off' for baths and 'flow' for power showering operate from this one compact unit which means there are more siting options, maximising building design flexibility.

Thermal stores (also known as heat stores) are fast becoming the preferred way to create mains pressure hot water without the dangers associated with unvented systems.

The TORRENT Direct is insulated in a 60mm thick high performance non toxic, non combustible Rockwool Flexilag jacket

The Torrent thermal store is so easy and safe to install it is not governed by the G3 Building Regulations in the UK. What's more, if you have a suitable incoming cold water main, retrofitting the TORRENT is simple way to convert a domestic system from gravity to mains pressure.

Because there are no dangers associated with the TORRENT, such as pressure or relief valves, the cylinder does not require annual servicing like its unvented counterparts. With no moving parts you can expect long and trouble-free service from your Torrent.

The Direct Model is ideal for Flats or Apartments where you may not have access to loft space and electricity is your only energy source.
