Torrent Indirect

Thermal Store By Gledhill

Mains Pressure Hot Water from an open vented heat store

TORRENT INDIRECT Thermal Store

For use with a remote heat source (e.g. GAS or OIL boiler)

TORRENT Indirect is an open vented hot water heat store that produces mains pressure hot water and is suitable for both open vented and sealed heating systems.

By immersing a large mains pressure coil within the heat store, cold water is converted to hot by means of speedy thermal transfer as it passes through. A thermostatic blending valve (supplied) ensures the output temperature cannot exceed a pre-set limit.

The Indirect unit can be fitted with a conventional 'S' plan, 'Y' plan or a control system of your choice. Units are suitable for left or right hand fitting.

  • Header tank (supplied) to be sited remotely

  • All copper construction

  • Insulated in high performance, non-toxic, non-combustible Rockwool

Thermal stores (or Heat Stores) are fast becoming the preferred way to create mains pressure hot water without the dangers associated with unvented systems. The Torrent thermal store is so easy and safe to install it is not governed by the G3 Building Regulations in the UK. What's more, if you have a suitable incoming cold water main, retrofitting the TORRENT is simple way to convert a domestic system from gravity to mains pressure.

Because there are no dangers associated with the TORRENT, such as pressure or relief valves, the cylinder does not require annual servicing like its unvented counterparts. With no moving parts you can expect long and trouble-free service from your Torrent.

The Torrent is now available with or without a primary heat exchanger (boiler coil). If you wish to fire your boiler directly into the shell of the cylinder and run an open vented central heating system choose the OV Model. If you wish to run a sealed primary and central heating system choose the SP Model. Don't hesitate to ask for advice.
